Chapter Houses circa 1927
In 1927, The Phi Gamma Delta magazine devoted an entire issue to chapter houses. Clicking on a link below will display an image at the bottom of this same page. Each house has a varied history. Some burned, like Alabama and Stanford. Others have been modified extensively, such as Cornell. Many are no longer extant. Some served the chapter for a short time; Davidson used this one for just a couple of years. Three are depictions of houses then under construction or in design, and not all were built as shown, for example North Carolina. Thanks to Robert Williams (Florida 1990) for the idea and for scanning these images. Please contact the Curator of Archives with questions and comments.
Chapter house photos can be found on the Phi Gam Archives website here.
